  2. Sanilac Petroglyphs Historic State Park – Michigan’s largest known collection of early Native American teachings carved in stone. Free admission, no DNR Recreation passport required.
  3. Outdoor Concerts – Attend a free outdoor concert throughout all of our shoreline communities.
  4. Ice Skating at the McMorran Plaza – Enjoy free skate rentals and access to McMorran’s seasonal outdoor rink in Downtown Port Huron! Lace-up and glide on the ice for a fantastic winter experience.
  5. SC4 Experience Center – Explore the natural science museum, bird and mineral gallery, or other hands-on exhibits. Free admission.

  7. Scallywag Scavenger Hunt – Go on a self-guided pirate-themed scavenger hunt within 1/2 mile of the Blue Water Bridges in Port Huron. Free of charge.
  8. Butterfly House – Experience the colorful butterflies in the lush surroundings of Port Austin for a serene and peaceful moment. Free admission.
  9. Pine River Nature Center – Visit the ADA accessible nature center and tree house along the forest, prairie, and wetland habitats. Free admission.
  10. Sprout City & Super Slide – Tube down a super slide or play at a child-sized ADA accessible city. Free admission.
  11. St. Clair County Birding Trails – Discover nature’s avian wonders on 21 unique birding trails, each offering a chance to connect with local birdlife and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
  12. Croswell Swinging Bridge – Cross a 139-foot pedestrian suspension bridge over the Black River! Enjoy a unique experience as you stroll across this scenic landmark.
  13. Climb the SC4 Tower – Get a birds-eye 360° view of historic downtown Port Huron. It’s 188 steps to the top! Varied hours depending on the season, typically open Monday-Friday. 400 Erie St., Port Huron. Call 810-989-5662 for hours. Free admission.
  14. Blue Water River Walk – Paved, one-mile scenic walk along the St. Clair River in downtown Port Huron. Kiosks along the way, sculptures include Stella Clair the 1500 lb. sturgeon, Sugar the horse made of scrap metal, carved “Seven Grandfather Teachings” originating from indigenous peoples, an art mural tunnel, wetlands, a restored ferry dock and fishing pier. 51 Court St., Port Huron. Free admission.
  15. Barn Art Project – Reimagined iconic American barns in a creative way. There are five art pieces to see on four barns in rural Port Austin at the tip of the Thumbcoast. Free admission.
